Environmental Management IGCSE Cambridge Home Education

As a home education teacher dedicated to providing valuable learning resources for home Educated sometimes known as homeschooled students, I have embarked on an exciting journey of offering free live lessons on a subject that is both captivating and immensely relevant in today's world—IGCSE Environmental Management. This course, accredited by the Cambridge Exam Board (CAIE), is a fascinating combination of biology and geography, offering students a comprehensive understanding of our environment and the various factors that impact it.

Environmental Management is not just another subject; it's a lens through which students learn to view the world. It encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, including agriculture, soil erosion, mining, pollution, and the oceans, to name a few. The beauty of this subject lies in its simplicity and the depth of knowledge it offers. Although the scientific concepts introduced are simple, they do require students to engage in memorisation and develop a solid understanding of fundamental scientific principles.

As someone deeply involved in home education in the UK, I've noticed the immense benefits of integrating Environmental Management with subjects like biology and geography. Such an approach enriches the student's learning experience and enhances their appreciation for the interconnectedness of environmental issues.

To facilitate this learning journey, I've made available exam question solutions for the last couple of years, helping students familiarise themselves with the format and types of questions they can expect. This practical resource aims to bolster their confidence and improve their exam performance.

Gary Skinner authors one textbook I highly recommend for students pursuing this course. It's an invaluable resource that effectively breaks complex concepts into understandable segments, making learning enjoyable and manageable.

The IGCSE Environmental Management course is assessed through two exam papers, each contributing 50% to the final grade. This structure allows for a balanced evaluation of the student's knowledge and understanding without the pressure of coursework elements.

As a home education teacher, I am committed to supporting home-schooled students in the UK by offering these free live lessons. I aim to prepare them for exams and instil deep-seated respect and curiosity for the environment. It's about nurturing informed and conscientious individuals equipped to make positive changes in the world.
